Gather family and friends for a fun-filled day of activities and events for the whole family in our breathtaking vineyards setting on Heritage Day.
In celebration of what has also become known as ‘National Braai Day’, festivities will have a decidedly traditional flavour, with a distinct Steenberg touch. Activities start early, so camp out picnic-style for the day on a blanket on the rolling lawn above the Winery, and enjoy a picnic basket brimming with traditional South African gourmet delicacies. With generous helpings of home baked wholewheat bread with West Coast snoek pate; biltong and cream cheese spread; a variety of local cheeses with onion marmalade; a tangy selection of free-range sliced beef biltong and droëwors; and cocktail size vetkoek with bobotie style curry mince, there is something to please every palate.

With everything from hand-made boerewors rolls, to Bistro Sixteen82 chef’s legendary ‘Steenburgers’ available at food stalls on the lawn, you can sit back, and soak up the relaxed vibe and the sounds of live music. Of course, your experience will only be complete with a glass of one of our fine wines in hand. Picnic baskets are available by pre-booking, at R350 per couple, including 2 wine glasses and a bottle of wine.

The annual Steenberg Vineyard Trail Run, a thoroughly entertaining and fun charity race (6km and 12km routes), kicks off at 08:00. This year’s beneficiary is the Cape SPCA and the theme is “Dress Up ‘n Lace Up”. There are great prizes to be won, and absolutely fantastic goodie bags for all entrants.
