The Steenberg Classic is the highlight of the Steenberg golf calendar, attracting some of the biggest names in South African sport, and will once again take place at the estate from 28 October to 3 November 2012.
Sponsored by Cadiz Asset Management, the Steenberg Classic is one of the biggest fund raising golf tournaments in South Africa. It began in 2000 as an initiative by members who felt they would like to contribute to the local community. 12 years down the line, it has grown into a week long journey with 8 events. This year’s beneficiaries, all within the broader Steenberg community, are: SARDA, TEARS, The Westlake Community Centre, The Steenberg Clinic and Caddy Programme, and the Haemophilia Foundation.

“The Cadiz Steenberg Classic raises funds for community upliftment organisations located near the golf course. Last year it raised a record R625 000. The aim is to top this figure in 2012 and boost the total funds raised over the last 12 years to over R3.2 million.
The Steenberg Golf Course boasts a host of illustrious members, including rugby heroes Francois Pienaar, Morne du Plessis, Lance Sherrell, Robert Brink, Christian Stewart and HO de Villiers. All these members will be participating in the week’s events.”
