Steenberg has introduced an excellent value special offer that combines a luxurious four night retreat on this historic wine farm in Cape Town’s famed Constantia Valley, with a superb five night safari at Garonga Safari Camp near the Kruger National Park.
The 9-night Cape and Safari Hideaway offers a world-class getaway in two of South Africa’s most popular destinations, providing a taste of the best that this country has to offer, at only R14 000 per person sharing. (Valid from 1 July to 30 September 2012)
Beginning with four idyllic nights at Steenberg, voted among the Top 100 Experiences in the World by readers of Condé Nast Traveler USA in 2011, the package includes luxury accommodation; full English Breakfast served daily at Catharina’s restaurant; a delicious Tapas meal for two at cellar door restaurant Bistro Sixteen82; and a wine tasting and cellar tour per person to round off this authentic winelands experience. Guests may enjoy a bout of golf at the championship Steenberg Golf Course, indulge in some pampering at the luxury Spa or sip a glass of Graham Beck sparkling wine at Gorgeous, South Africa’s first brand-exclusive bubbly bar that opened here recently. An exhilarating choice of outdoor activities includes complimentary use of on-site mountain bikes, or a refreshing stroll through the vineyards.
The five night bush adventure at the exclusive Garonga Safari Camp located in the greater Makalali Conservancy near the Kruger National Park in Limpopo, offers a safari for the soul. With personal wildlife encounters, wilderness walks, outdoor bush-baths, and a ‘sleep out’ for the more adventurous, as well as aromatherapy and reflexology sessions, this is an unhurried safari experience with time to reflect and find inspiration in nature. Privately owned Garonga is a proud member of Classic Safari Camps of Africa, and here guests will be accommodated in one of six luxury tented rooms, each with its own wooden deck and hammock. With a bottle of ‘bubbly’ to set the mood on arrival, a sensuous 30 minute massage per person at the outdoor Garonga Sala (open pavilion) overlooking the reserve is included, as well as scheduled bush walks and game drives, and delicious cuisine served up by the resident chef. All meals and drinks are included, (with the exception of specialist wines and Champagne) and an excellent selection of South African wines is available at own cost.
For guests opting to visit the properties one after the other, with the ease of a flight between destinations, transfers between each property can easily be arranged as both Steenberg and Garonga can provide airport transfers. However, guests are advised to hire a vehicle for their exclusive use to explore Cape Town while based at Steenberg, a short 20 minute drive from the city centre and near many of the Cape’s top tourist attractions.
This package excludes flights and transfers to and between the two destinations, and the full 9 night package does not need to be booked consecutively.
Reservation for the Steenberg Garonga Package is essential and may be made either with the Steenberg Reservation Office at reservations@steenberghotel.com or the Garonga Safari Camp at reservations@garonga.com
