Community

STEENBERG STAFF OPEN THEIR HEARTS TO EMMANUEL EDUCATION CENTRE

The Westlake United Church Trust is an exemplary organization that manages many community projects in our neighbouring area, and we have long partnered with them to offer sponsorship and support as part of our community outreach programme. They do much to empower the community by way of sourcing employment opportunities, assisting with social grants and birth registration as well as providing health care, HIV counseling and home based care, and we proudly support them.

The Emmanuel Educare Centre in Westlake, a registered Pre-School catering for 160 children from the ages of 3 to 6 years old, is one of the groups we support through our partnership with the Trust, and the children who attend this centre are very close to our hearts.

Last month staff members of the Steenberg Forum and Peer Educators group paid a visit to the Centre to donate food parcels and basic necessities for the children. They were deeply touched to see the difference our small offering made in the lives of these vulnerable young one’s.
