WE INTRODUCE
OUR 'EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR 2009': PETER KAMBADZA
|

Peter Kabadza and Gaby Gramm (General Manager)
|
Peter Kambadza is the efficient Food
& Beverage Storekeeper at Steenberg, who, while quietly and
efficiently going about his daily duties, so impressed management,
that he was unanimously voted ‘Employee of the Year’
2009.
Originally from Zimbabwe, Peter
fulfills a key role at Steenberg, ensuring the smooth running of a
streamlined food & beverage operation. He joined Steenberg
early in 2009, and, in the short space of one year, this team player
has irrevocably endeared himself to his fellow colleagues and
management, with his likeable, friendly demeanor and no-nonsense
approach. His portfolio comprises receiving all deliveries,
managing the stock control, and assisting the accounting department
with invoicing.
With his efficient work ethic,
determination and positive approach, and the support of his
‘second family’ at Steenberg, we believe that attaining
his dream of becoming a successful business man is well within his
reach.

TASTE
OF CAPE TOWN 2010
|

|
The Steenberg Vineyards and Bistro
Sixteen82 team proved a magnetic presence among the 19
restaurants and numerous wineries invited to participate in this
year’s Taste of Cape Town Festival, held recently.
While the Bistro Sixteen82 stand
was a runaway success, attracting a constant flow of festival
goers eager to savour tastings of
Executive Chef Brad Ball’s delicious signature dishes, the
Steenberg Vineyards stand proved just as popular with guests clamouring for a tasting of some of its
wines.
By the end of the festival, staff manning the Bistro Sixteen82
stand had dished up in excess of 160 kilograms of fillet for the
succulent Beef Tataki,
comprising slivers of seared, chilled beef fillet with fresh
ginger, chilli, Tamari soya and lime,
and 100 kilograms of Soft Shell Crab, two of the signature
dishes served up especially for this gastronomic showcase of the
best food, wine and gourmet goodies the Cape has to offer.
Seen here is Alex Lekkas of Bistro
Sixteen82 who was decidedly ‘hot under the collar’
after slicing a small mountain of chillies
in preparation for high demand for Brad Ball’s popular Beef
Tataki – a favourite
on the Tapas menu.

Participating in a sport or exercise
of any sort is good for mind, body and soul. However every
conscientious sportsman and woman will agree that the continued,
strenuous activity can lead to muscle tension, knotted muscles
– or worse, dreaded cramping. This month’s Sportz Special has been especially designed
to alleviate muscle stiffness and strain while providing a
revitalizing spa experience that will leave you feeling
thoroughly and deliciously relaxed.
Your journey begins with a 30 minute revitalizing steam bath,
replenishing your skin’s moisture and leaving you feeling
deliciously hydrated, while easing the strain caused by your
daily or weekly workout. Then succumb to a Deep Tissue Back and
Leg Massage, expertly applied by our competent spa therapists who
will focus on the muscle groups of your back and legs that are
especially prone to deep-seated tension and repetitive strain. Aromatherapeutic Lilian
Terry Sportz Muscle oil, a natural
product that has been expertly designed to alleviate muscle
stiffness and strain, will be applied to enhance your experience.
With no artificial fragrance or colouring
agents, the LT Sportz Muscle oil
penetrates deeply into your skin, aiding the massage therapy,
while strengthening the skin’s natural defenses and
regulating its moisture levels. You will leave feeling ready to
take on the world again!

Steenberg
Vineyards celebrated the recent release of its flagship wines with a
food and wine matching held at the new Bistro Sixteen82,
simultaneously taking the experience into the home of everyman across
the country via the popular social network tool, Twitter.
The
idea was to share this unique food and wine experience with a wider
audience of home entertainers, wine connoisseurs and gourmands who
love food and wine. Participants could simulate the culinary
experience in their own homes, in ‘real time’, by
purchasing a ‘Steenberg Flagship Celebration Pack’ from
the winery in advance, with all the necessary components. This
allowed people to prepare in advance, and, guided by live twitter
feeds from Steenberg Vineyards wine maker JD Pretorius, and Executive
Chef Brad Ball, who hosted the food and wine pairing event, could
share valuable insights into the making of each wine. This, while
expertly pairing each wine with one of four dishes selected from the
delectable Tapas menu of Bistro Sixteen82.
Seen relishing the delicious marriage of fine wine and gourmet
cuisine at the Flagship Celebration at Bistro Sixteen82 were:

Mike Froud, Jeanri-tine van Zyl
and John Loubser (Steenberg Vineyards Cellar Master
and General Manager)
