The spirit of festive season is in the air, bringing
with it a dizzy round of social occasions. This is the time of year
when we rekindle relationships and restore old friendships, whilst
taking ‘time out’ to relax, eat, drink and enjoy the
company of good friends and family.
With our stylish cellar door restaurant Bistro
Sixteen82 now open, along with the new Steenberg Winery, Wine
Tasting Bar and Tasting Lounge, we proudly offer a one-stop food and
wine destination unlike any other in the Constantia Valley.
By all accounts, its picture perfect setting among the vines will
transform family gatherings and celebrations with friends and
colleagues into a magical experience. Where better to toast the end of
another year, with good food, fine wine and great conversation, while
inhaling the breathtaking views of our vineyards and the valley beyond?
We look forward to sharing special moments with you at our new
multi-sensory food and wine destination, and, of course, at Catharina’s,
our timeless fine dining restaurant.
Our new conference and function venue, The
Meeting Room, has also opened for business, and offers the ideal
space for a ‘meeting of minds.’ We will bring you up to
speed regarding this state-of-the-art offering in our next newsletter.
Wishing you peace and goodwill over this festive season.

SIXTEEN82
Introducing a whole new era of informal dining at the Cellar door,
stylish new Bistro Sixteen82 perfectly offsets the new Winery, Wine
Tasting Bar and Tasting Lounge on the estate.

|
By all accounts, with its tranquil
vineyards setting and relaxed ambience, it is fast becoming a
popular choice for groups of friends and families to dine
together. It’s been launched with aplomb and already
restaurant goers are packing the bistro to capacity and filtering
through to the popular Wine Tasting Lounge and Bar.
Whilst the casual ambience lends
itself to great family outings, the stylish Wine Bar and terrace
with rim flow and reflection pools are attracting the trendy set
to our shores. It seems the jet-set are keen to indulge in a
stint of culinary delight and explorative wine tasting this side
of the mountain!
Those who have savoured
dishes from Executive Chef and bistro dining specialist Brad
Ball’s Breakfast and Lunch menus, are declaring them
nothing short of a taste sensation. His Tapas
menu is proving a popular late afternoon option, with tastings of mouth-watering delicacies
accompanied by Steenberg’s fine
selection of wines.
|
Bistro Sixteen82 is open daily for breakfast from 09:00 until 11:30
and lunch is served between 12:00 and 16:00. Snack platters are
available throughout the day from the interactive Raw Food Bar, and
a Tapas menu of small tasting portions of
select dishes can be enjoyed in the late-afternoon and at sunset
(16:30 – 19:30).

CHRISTMAS GIFT VOUCHER IDEA
Journey to a state of Ataraxia
90 minutes/R620)
Ataraxia
is defined as ‘a state free from anxiety or any other
preoccupation, a true experience of robust tranquillity’.
Our intrepid team at the Ginkgo Spa at Steenberg Hotel has
introduced the exclusive Ataraxia Full
Body Massage treatment onto the Spa menu. Indulge in a 90 minute
journey to a true state of euphoria, with our special introductory
offer of R620.
|
Your unforgettable journey starts
with a personal choice of Soy Massage Oil Candles selected from a
range of 7 blends, each designed to stimulate and rebalance
different body systems. Soy is known for its healing and moisturising qualities and the candles burn
at only 2 degrees above the body’s temperature, exuding
comforting aromas.
The massage begins with an initial
tension release and unwinding phase with gentle rocking and
pressure massage movements. This is followed by a deep, slow
massage focusing on the muscle groups prone to deep-seated
tension and repetitive strain. Incorporating an ancient Eastern Asia treatment method - the use of
heated bamboo, softening muscles into a state of deep relaxation,
the muscles are warmed and relaxed using heated bamboo, which
allows for different pressure levels, applied by our adept therapists,
who work on deeper muscle fibres to
release every last ounce of tension in your body.
Completing the massage, cocooning
movements of the upper and lower parts of the body are applied,
using warm wrapping towels. You will leave feeling pampered, and
completely relaxed, and ready to enter into the festive spirit
– body and soul.
|

|
A gift voucher from the Ginkgo Spa at Steenberg provides the ideal
Christmas gift for friends and family of every age, and offers the
perfect pampering experience to end off the year.
