scent of Scen Tao will enhance your
feeling of well-being.

memorable moments together this Mother’s Day.
Moms will receive a special gift upon departure – just our

2010
HARVEST ENDS ON A HIGH NOTE
Winemaker
JD Pretorius and his dedicated team at Steenberg Winery
celebrated the end of this year’s harvest season on
Wednesday, 24 April with glasses raised in jubilation.
According
to JD, the 2010 harvest season saw great yields, with not only
increased produce, but also with quality well above average,
especially for the Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz varietals.
Exciting
news is that 665 tons have been moved through the cellar, the
highest yield since 2005, and just short of cellar capacity (700
tons).

STEENBERG
VINEYARDS VOTED ONTO SA TOP 20 WINERIES ‘ROLL OF HONOUR’
Steenberg
Vineyards has been voted amongst the Top 20 wine producers in South
Africa, for the third time in a row!
This
singular honour was bestowed on our
vineyards by a panel of leading wine professionals in a poll
conducted by ‘Grape’ (www.grape.co.za) – the South
African based website that is widely considered to be the leading
‘independent wine viewpoint’. Steenberg Vineyards is also
the only winery in the Constantia
Valley to be
nominated among the Top 20 Wineries this year.
To
top this, we also secured a place with our flagship Steenberg
Sauvignon Blanc Reserve amongst Grape's Top 10 White Wines,
confirming the excellent track record of this wine, which was
selected as the only Sauvignon Blanc this year.
In
addition, respected wine writer Neil Pendock,
blogging as the Good Value Guru on http://blogs.timeslive.co.za/pendock/2010/04/18/the-gvg-speaks/
also voted Steenberg onto a pick of Top 20 South African wineries,
and included the Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc Reserve as one of the country’s
Top 10 white wines.
Cheers
to that!

STEENBERG
CELLAR DOOR SPECIAL (MAY 2010)
Catharina
2006 priced at just R140 a bottle
(Usual price R175)
This
full bodied red wine reflects a fusion of the best red varieties
on Steenberg: the dark earthy tones of Cabernet Sauvignon, the
fresh minty character of Merlot and the spicy dark fruit of Shiraz.
A
touch of Cabernet Franc opens up the nose of the wine to reveal
good fruit, and the Nebbiolo adds a
tail of dry tannin that completes the finish. The taste of this
delicious vintage evolves beautifully in the bottle for up to
eight years, so it’s well worth tucking away a couple of
bottles in your cellar to open up during a memorable occasion.
