BISTRO 1682 SET TO MAKE A ‘GRAND ENTRANCE’
Great excitement ensues,
leading up to the opening of Bistro 1682 that is scheduled for
Friday, 13 November. Named after the year that the Steenberg farm
was first established, the innovative new Bistro-style cellar door
restaurant and wine tasting concept, nestled among the vineyards at
the foothills of our Steenberg
Mountain, is
touted to raise the bar for bistro-style dining.

At the helm of the
70-seater Bistro 1682 is bistro dining specialist, chef Brad Ball
of the River Café and Olympia Café fame. He intends
to make his mark by introducing diners to his own, original
interpretation of modern Bistro food.
Featuring a unique Raw
Bar with counter seating, the bistro will offer an interactive
dining experience, with a menu that showcases interesting,
healthy and delicious raw cuisine that will be freshly prepared
on order by designated Chefs.
With spectacular views
across the vineyards and the Constantia Valley,
this modern and sophisticated daytime restaurant, with its
relaxed, informal ambience, will seamlessly complement Steenberg’s popular fine dining restaurant,
Catharina’s.

Together with the much-anticipated state-of-the-art Steenberg
Winery, Wine Tasting Bar and Tasting Lounge, Bistro 1682 will offer
a multi-sensory food and wine destination, where Steenberg’s wines will be expertly paired
