Heritage Suites
The Heritage Suites at Steenberg Hotel offer luxury hotel accommodation as well as magnificent views of Steenberg Vineyards, Golf Course and False Bay. The décor embraces the 325 year history of Steenberg while celebrating modern Cape Town by blending historical period antiques with sophisticated contemporary technology to create an exquisite and distinguished ambience.
The three suites – The Cape Colonial, The Khoikhoi and The Dutch East India – are a contemporary interpretation and tribute to three distinct historic periods in the history of the Cape, while offering luxury accommodation and service excellence.
The suites have been created within the Jonkershuis (most of the Cape Estates had these “young man houses”) and meet the constraints laid down in the Law for a Historic Building. While the exterior is not permitted to be altered in any way, the interiors have been changed dramatically, as Government are prepared to be flexible about this provided “new life is being breathed” into an old building.
These Suites will exceed the expectations of even the most discerning of travellers.

The Khoikhoi, whose name means “men of men” were some of the first inhabitants of the Cape. Peaceful, nomadic herders they are also among the first pottery makers in the archaeological record books. In tribute to the harmonious nature of the Khoikhoi, this two-bedroom duplex suite is 163m² and contains artefacts and a selection of original illustrations depicting the Khoikhoi’s marvellous animated paintings on rocks and cave walls found throughout South Africa.
